APPOINTMENTS
Most people come for one hour a week
initially, but appointments may be booked to suit you and your circumstances,
however often you prefer.
The first appointment is an assessment one. I would give you more information
and answer any questions. There would be time for you tell me about yourself or
your problem.
We would discuss whether we both feel comfortable to continue, and
whether it would be appropriate. Some people may need a different kind of help.
If we agree to work together, I would give you a written agreement so that you
are clear about our relationship, and way of working together. This will give
detailed information regarding fees, contact, storage of notes, etc.
However if you decide not to proceed, there would be no pressure for you
to continue.
Although I would expect your commitment to attending regularly and promptly,
there is no obligation to pay for a set number of sessions. Payment is made at
each individual appointment, and I do not charge if you give 24 hours prior
notice of cancellation.
You may only need
a few appointments, but it depends upon your particular difficulty, and on your
willingness to continue. We would regularly review if the counselling was
proving beneficial. You may end the appointments at any time.
I would hope to create a trusting and safe relationship with you, where you
would feel able to disclose any thoughts, feelings or behaviours.
FEES
I offer one - hour appointments of sixty- minutes, (some counsellors offer 50
minutes). Or you might prefer to attend for one and half hours.
My current fee is £33 to £45 per hour.
Some concessions may be available by negotiation.
Fees are payable at each appointment: cash, or cheque.
Daytime or evening appointments are available.
If you give 24 hours prior notice that you cannot attend I do not charge.
However if you do NOT give prior notice, I then charge the full fee for any
missed appointment.
I have a duty to ensure that you attend for only the minimum number of
sessions you need to meet your needs or goals.
Do remember that you may be able to obtain counselling free of charge through
your own Doctor or from other agencies.
A reduced rate is
available to trainee counsellors attending for their compulsory sessions.
Please phone for details.
